These images were used in a wrongful death case in which a young mother was allowed to die from shock due to blood loss after childbirth. Since most of us think of "shock" as something fairly insignificant, it was important for the jury to understand what the medical professionals already know: that shock is a killer if not treated properly. Sherry worked with a very talented medical illustrator, Mark Miller, to develop these highly effective medical illustrations.

The way this exhibit is structured, it allows the jury to visualize the woman who died as she would have appeared to medical professionals when they first should have been aware there was a problem. It also refers to and depicts the other processes that are ongoing during the early stages of shock.
This exhibit was correlated with the medical records and depicted the progression of shock at a time when the medical professionals could have done a number of things to reverse her condition.

This exhibit, too, was correlated with medical records and depicted the final stage of shock, when there was nothing anyone could have done to reverse her condition |
This illustration was used to demonstrate how easy it would have been to save this woman's life by using simple treatments to prevent her from going into shock.
